01 Mar Globe Tracker appoints new Chief Executive Officer
Globe Tracker, a leader in IoT tracking and monitoring solutions for logistics assets, is pleased to announce that its board of directors have appointed Olavur Ellefsen as Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Olavur Ellefsen has served on Globe Tracker’s board for the last 6 years and has been Chairman of the Board since January 2019. He has a background as a software engineer and technology entrepreneur and has founded and built a number of successful startups, including simulation training software company Simprentis, which was sold to Schlumberger in 2014.
“I am honored and excited to lead Globe Tracker to the next level. We have the team and technology to make the supply chain significantly smarter, and we can help stakeholders gain efficiencies, for example reducing food waste, which is a huge challenge in the cold chain. Our focus will be to get our technology implemented throughout the supply chain and augment it with artificial intelligence and other measures to maximize impact,” says Olavur Ellefsen.
Jakup Lamhauge, the current CEO, will take on a new role as Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) and lead key strategic projects for Globe Tracker.
“Jakup Lamhauge has been with the company since its inception, with the last 5 years as CEO, and has been instrumental in securing the growth and success of Globe Tracker,” says Ellefsen.
